How position sizing works: The calculator first determines your maximum planned
loss from account balance and risk percentage. It then
calculates a position size based on the distance between
entry and stop-loss, including estimated entry and
stop-exit trading fees.
Leverage: Leverage changes the margin required to hold a position; it does not change the dollar loss from a given position size and price movement. The calculator caps position notional at account balance multiplied by selected leverage, assuming the entire account balance is available as collateral. This is a sizing ceiling, not a recommendation to use all available margin.
Limitations: Calculations assume execution at the specified prices, proportional trading fees, and sufficient liquidity. Slippage, funding, liquidation thresholds, maintenance margin, spreads, taxes, and exchange-specific rules are not included.
